PHONE PROBLEM

I would like to apologise for those of you who have been having problems trying to contact us over last few weeks. Our land land is VoIP system and diverted to our mobile. Our mobile number has changed  to 086 8190076. I have recently moved into new house on site of Trade Genetics and there is no phone signal inside this house. I have been trying different networks but there are all in a black spot. I have signal to call me on what’s app. I’m working to resolve this matter as quickly as possible but due to  covid restrictions companies engineers are slow in progress. I’m on email all time. I’m also on my personal facebook messenger. 

 I would like to tell you that not only is “Business as usual” I am very pleased to say we are now in plans to expand the business across other services within Europe in the very near future with new employee to start working with us in March 2021. 

However, with the new Covid restrictions, we would like to make you all aware of the new changes in place.

• Trade Genetics is classed under the Irish Covid government guidelines as an essential service as a licenced veterinary surgery.
• Chilled semen will be exported and imported from 24 hours prior to Covid to  48 hours with the current new restrictions.
• Frozen semen can be shipped world wide as normal but please allow extra time due to covid restrictions.
• As of January 1^st all shipments from the UK will be subject to customs duty that includes received and sent shipments.
• All semen freezing  in Ireland as per normal booked in advance.
• All semen freezing  in the UK, requires 10 daysnotice due to travel restrictions
• All semen freezing in mainland Europe is on hold until April 2021.
• Dog transporters within Ireland are running as normal. 
  Dog transports from UK are currently distributed due to Brexit regulations both UK and EU. Please plan 4 weeks in advance.
• Both Covid and Brexit has caused huge disruption to and from the UK but every company is in the same position.
• Its advisable to ship semen rather than travel with the live dog for mating.
• Due to Covid restrictions we are unable to facilitate walk in bookings and must be by appointment only.

Whether we like it or not, we are all getting used to so-called “new normal”. When you cannot travel to the sire for the natural mating, the sire can still travel to you…

Many, many years ago, scientists tried to freeze dogs’ semen. It was so long ago that it is even hard to imagine that even at that time as early as 16th century people were thinking about something that has been perfected today. During the last century the brightest veterinarian minds of the planet had been working on techniques of not only collecting and preserving sperm of dogs but also of possible ways of using it in the most effective way.

Transcervical Insemination (TCI) is a technique in which a rigid endoscope is used to locate the cervix and pass a catheter through it for intrauterine insemination of frozen semen without the need for the surgery. An endoscope (essentially a tiny video camera) is passed up the vaginal canal of a bitch and to the cervix. The inseminator is able to watch the positioning of the catheter on a TV monitor to which the endoscopic view is shown. The actual insemination can be visualized, ensuring that the deposition of semen is in the uterus and that minimal back flush occurs.

Progesterone is a hormone produced by the ovaries and placenta that helps to maintain pregnancy. Its main effects on tissues inside the body include: induction of an elaborate network of glands (endometrial glands) in the uterus to help provide nutrition to the early conceptus (baby) and become the maternal side of the placenta (connection between baby and mom).
